It’s an inevitable part of life that our bodies change as we age. While I’m only in my mid-twenties, I’ve already been plagued by grey hairs (made more noticeable by my naturally dark hair) and don’t get me started on hangovers. A 24-year-old body cannot handle overzealous drinking the way a 21-year-old one can. But there are some exceptions to this rule.

J.Lo, for example, is still a naturally stunning woman despite having almost reached the big 50, and she’s showing people that they shouldn’t be “fooled by the rocks that I got” sixteen years after ‘Jenny from the Block’. However, the 49-year-old’s life is very different from what it was back in the early noughties, and she now prefers to stay largely out of the spotlight.

However, she does share snippets of her life with her legions of fans.

Most recently, she has been celebrating her 49th birthday in the Bahamas with her boyfriend, Alex Rodriquez, and their friends and family – sharing a number of snaps from the trip with her 71 million-plus followers on Instagram.

And what has made these snaps so truly heartwarming is just how happy J.Lo looks in them.

After all, the 49-year-old singer is no stranger to heartbreak, having had a number of long-term relationships with stars including P Diddy and Ben Affleck – and that’s not to mention her three failed marriages.

But it appears that J.Lo has finally found her prince charming in former pro baseball player Alex Rodriquez.

In two snaps from her birthday, the singer can be seen jubilantly holding up a bottle of champagne with her beau and family and friends by her side, and aside from her big grin, what makes them so remarkable is her insanely toned body.

Lopez captioned the pictures, “Current birthday situation… yup.”

The star’s birthday was also noted on Alex’s Instagram. He posted yet another beaming picture of J.Lo and a touching birthday message which read, “I hope today we can give you all the happiness you deserve.”

Now, is it just me, or does J.Lo look like a woman in her twenties and not her late forties? Phwar!

The loved-up pair began dating at the beginning of 2017, and Alex is treating J.Lo like a real princess with gestures like making her breakfast in bed – gestures that, as far as she’s concerned, a man under 33 would not do.

Because J.Lo’s dealt with more than her fair share of heartbreak, it’s safe to say that she knows a thing or two about finding the right man, and she recently helped a fan to find the man of her dreams by taking over her Tinder.

In the video, she also makes a sweeping statement about men when she sees a less-than-appealing Tinder bio, saying, “Guys, until they’re 33, are really useless.”

However, this comment has now been analyzed by a relationship expert to see if there’s any truth to it.

Dr. Jane Greer, a New York-based relationship expert, and author of What About Me? Stop Selfishness From Ruining Your Relationship, said:

“It can take men into their early 30s to establish their professional career and feel a sense of financial stability, which helps them feel more secure in life.

As a result, this can give them the maturity that comes with accomplishment, experience, and success.”

While there might be some truth to Greer’s findings, it’s important to note that they certainly don’t apply to all men. That being said, it could explain why so many younger men struggle with committing to a long-term relationship.

Anyway, we are glad to see that Jenny from the block is so happy these days and would also like to wish her a happy birthday. Maybe it will be fourth time lucky if Alex puts a ring on it – and let’s be honest, J.Lo totally deserves a happy ending!
