Dogs are incredible creatures – not only are they fiercely protective, but they are constantly bringing heaps of joy into our lives. In fact, whoever coined the phrase a “dog is man’s best friend”, really hit the nail on the head when it comes to describing the close and affectionate companionships we are able to develop with our canine counterparts.

I’m pretty sure everyone knows at least one person who says that they “love dogs more than people”, and that’s because they’re oh so adorable, loyal and playful.

And as it turns out, they’re also insanely talented. No, I’m not talking about the kind of talent that will see them through to the final of the Westminster Kennel Club dog show.

I’m also not talking about those hugely impressive dancing dogs that you see on shows like America’s Got Talent… I’m talking pooches who can legit belt out a hit tune, no questions asked.

In fact, one Twitter user by the name of Matthew Hardin posted a video of his dog Riley basically singing one of the biggest bangers of the last twenty years in his adorably high-pitched bark. Alongside the video, Hardin wrote: “Is it just me or does Riley sound like he’s singing ‘Toxic’ by Britney Spears?” Did he need to ask? The pooch is clearly singing the 2003 hit.

It didn’t take long before the hilarious clip went viral, accumulating over two million views in just a couple of days. It turns out people are really impressed by the pooch’s vocal abilities.

“At first I thought [Riley] was just howling at the storm that was passing through,” Matthew told BuzzFeed. “But then I watched the video a few times and thought to myself, ‘Oh my God, this sounds so familiar.’ Then it hit me that he was, in fact, singing Britney Spears.”

Now, all we need is for the real Britney Spears to agree to do a collaboration with the talented canine.
