Ex-NASA Scientist Claims Aliens Exist And The Government Is Covering It Up

Have you ever looked up at twinkling lights in the night sky and wondered if we are alone in the universe? For the majority of people, the answer to this question is a resounding yes. In fact, many of us know people who claim to have got up close and personal with E.T. When I was a kid, my mom told me that she’d seen what looked like rockets whizzing above a lake, despite the fact that the rest of the sky was starless.

While we might put these zooming lights down to drones, or even a group of kids shining laser beams up into the sky in 2018, it’s worth noting that my mom’s experience happened way back in the early 80s – long before technology dominated our lives like it does today.

But despite countless reported sightings of UFOs over the years, definitive evidence of the existence of alien life has yet to be found. Or has it?

The second of July is World UFO Day, so it would seem there is no better time to hear that an ex-NASA Scientist believes the government is covering up the presence of aliens. Perhaps it’s time to finally answer the age-old question, Are we alone in the universe?

Kevin Knuth, who now works as a professor of physics at the University of Albany, believes plenty of evidence exists to back up his claim that aliens exist. However, he blames the media and the government for saying UFOs are “nonsense” for the fact we have no publically accepted proof.

“I believe we need to face the possibility that some of the strange flying objects that outperform the best aircraft in our inventory and defy explanation may indeed be visitors from afar – and there’s plenty of evidence to support UFO sightings,” says Knuth.

Knuth claims that the fact that UFOs and alien life is so frequently off the table for scientific research or serious exploration keeps the topic in the realm of conspiracy theories. He believes that there is no single UFO sighting that is widely accepted enough to change this.

The problem is that there has been no single well-documented UFO encounter that would alone qualify as the smoking gun,” he wrote in The Conversion“The situation is exacerbated by the fact that many governments around the world have covered up and classified information about such encounters.”

Knuth’s claims shouldn’t be taken with a grain of salt either, especially when we consider the Fermi Paradox. The concept was coined by physicist Enrico Fermi after he statistically worked out the odds of there being other life forms in our galaxy.

According to Fermi, there are 300 billion stars in our galaxy, with many of them being much older than our own sun. A large percentage of these stars are statistically likely to host habitable planets. Therefore, even if only a tiny fraction of these planets had life, there should be other civilizations.

Using human civilization as a guide, it should take between five and 50 million years for a new civilization to colonize within our Milky Way galaxy and, given how much time has passed since the creation of the galaxy, this should have happened several times over already.

So where is everybody? That’s the Fermi Paradox. It’s become puzzling why the topic has become taboo for scientists to explore. After all, many trained astronomers see unidentified flying objects all the time, 5% of which are never explained. The facts just aren’t adding up.

However, as it turns out, governments really are studying alien phenomenon, but many of the files are classified. Only in recent years have some countries, such as Canada, Brazil, Denmark, Ecuador, France, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden and the UK, begun to declassify their UFO files since 2008.

Many of these declassified files reveal that sitings have been credible and remained unexplainable. The best hypothesis included that the UFOs were, in fact, extraterrestrial and that the United States was covering up alien evidence.

In fact, in 2017, the New York Times broke a story that the USA did have a classified organization worth $22 million called The Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program devoted to studying UFOs.

The program had been run by former Pentagon official, Luis Elizondo, but he eventually resigned citing issues with extreme secrecy and lack of support. He has since moved to a private organization to continue his research into alien life.

Retired Army General John Alexander also believes in extraterrestrial beings. He said, “Disclosure has happened… I’ve got stacks of generals, including Soviet generals, who’ve come out and said UFOs are real. My point is, how many times do senior officials need to come forward and say that this is real?”

Multiple credible, educated, high-ranking individuals have come forward claiming that evidence of UFOs and alien life exists, yet it still seems difficult to convince the public, and perhaps more importantly, scientific research institutions, that this is an area worthy of serious discussion.

Until more documents become declassified and the scientific community allows more research and open discussion of the topic, we are unlikely to discover the truth. Although as long as people keep looking at the stars, we will always wonder what else is out there.
