Photography has existed since the early 1800s, with the earliest known photograph being taken in 1826, depicting French inventor Nicéphore Niépce’s view from a window. It was hardly the most exhilarating photo you’ll ever see, but it was a huge step towards the age of photography we have today.

It is estimated that humans took 1.2 trillion photos in 2017, as people scramble to capture every possible moment on their lives on camera. However, with so many cell phone apps and photoshop software around these days, how can we know what’s really real?

With incredible images being circulated on social media every second, we all like to think we can spot real unedited photos from the photoshopped phonies – but it’s really not that easy. So many of these fake images have been circulated around the internet, with millions of people believing they’re real! And so many of the real ones have been discredited as being photoshopped.

One thing’s for sure though, I think we’ve proved that you don’t have to edit an image in order to capture just how bizarre the world truly is.
