New Search For Missing Flight MH370 Brings Fresh Heartbreak To Passengers’ Grieving Families

On March 8, 2014, one of the world’s greatest mysteries was born when Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 seemingly disappeared into thin air whilst flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Since that fateful day, there have been many theories as to what happened to the Boeing 777 jet which was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew at the time of its mysterious disappearance.

Of course, a majority of these theories are based purely on conspiracy. Meanwhile, the investigation, the most expensive in aviation history, into the obscure tragedy continues.

It’s easy to see why the incident has spawned such sinister theories, given that to date the location of the doomed plane has not yet been confirmed.

At present, the only lead that investigators are known to have is 20 pieces of debris, which experts have verified to be from the missing Malaysian plane. The first piece, a broken section of a plane’s wing, was discovered in July 2015 on Réunion, a small island in the western Indian Ocean – not far from the flight’s last known location.

These discoveries have helped investigators piece together a potential point where the plane is presumed to have crashed. Due to the lack of debris and the fact that the plane has not been detected in the sea by radar scanners, experts believe that it’s most likely that the plane is at the very bottom of the Ocean, having sunk shortly after coming into contact with the water.
