Stephen Hawking’s Alarming Warning To The World About President Trump

Renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76. Diagnosed with a rare form of motor neuron disease, ALS, when he was just 22 years old, he was told that he would only live for another two years but went on to defy the odds to live a long and incredible life.

Hawking became the scientific world’s most unlikely celebrity. Despite being wheelchair-bound for the majority of his life and only able to speak through a voice synthesizer, he authored some of the most important scientific works in recent history, including A Brief History of Time.

His intellect was so great that he was compared to Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton, and, as a result, people have taken what Hawking had to say about the world very seriously. Now, following his death, the warning he gave to President Trump has gained even more momentum.

Throughout his life, Hawking issued a number of stark warnings to humanity. He believed that the human race was facing a number of imminent threats which could wipe out life on Earth entirely – such as AI, overpopulation, aliens, and, most recently, Donald Trump.

Even though Hawking found fame through his intellect, he won a special place in people’s hearts thanks to his brilliant sense of humor too. He embraced all aspects of popular culture and even had a cameo in The Simpsons.

Hawking’s incredible life and rise to fame were dramatized in the 2014 movie, The Theory Of Everything.

Although Hawking made a number of impressive discoveries throughout his life, it is believed that he will be best remembered for his groundbreaking work on black holes – the mysterious structures where the normal laws of physics do not apply.

His theory about black holes, known as Hawking Radiation, was never proven in his lifetime, but if it had been, he would have likely been awarded a Nobel Prize. He theorized that black holes can emit energy, despite science claiming nothing can escape their gravity.

Hawking’s warning about President Trump, however, is not only a lot easier to understand but a lot easier to prove.

Hawking slammed the American president in June of last year after he withdrew from the Paris climate accord because he believed it was having a detrimental effect on the American workforce, even though it was playing an instrumental effect on keeping the planet safe.

Prior to the former reality star’s election, he was described by Hawking as “a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator.”

During an interview with the BBC, which is featured at the beginning of this article, Hawking said that Trump’s decision on Paris could ultimately lead to Earth becoming like Venus – making life as we know it impossible in a temperature of 250°C.

On his 75th birthday, Hawking said, “We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a ‘temperature of 250°C, and raining sulphuric acid.’”

“Climate change is one of the great dangers we face, and it’s one we can prevent if we act now,” Hawking continued.

“By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children.”

Even though the human race is seemingly thriving in a way that it has never done before, Hawking was convinced that our days are numbered.

“I fear evolution has inbuilt greed and aggression to the human genome,” he said. “There is no sign of conflict lessening, and the development of militarised technology and weapons of mass destruction could make that disastrous.”

“The best hope for the survival of the human race might be independent colonies in space,” he suggested.

Even if Trump’s action doesn’t cause irreversible damage to the planet, Hawking feared that making contact with alien life could.

“The idea that we are alone in the universe seems to me completely implausible and arrogant,” he said. “Considering the number of planets and stars that we know exist, it’s extremely unlikely that we are the only form of evolved life.

“If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”

“I believe that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster such as sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers,” he said before reiterating, “I think the human race has no future if it doesn’t go into space.”

We would like to wish our sincere condolences to Hawking’s family during this extremely difficult time.
