These days, fame can be borne out of the most unlikely of places. From leaked tapes featuring private moments to risqué reality TV shows – you can get worldwide attention from plenty of things outside of the more traditional realm of showbusiness.

Take Danielle Bregoli, AKA the “Cash me ousside” girl, as proof of this.

In September 2016, the then-13-year-old appeared on Dr. Phil in an episode which centered on parents with teenage kids who were “out of control”. At this point, Bregoli’s bad behavior was worse than it ever had been – she kept running away and even attempted to steal her mother’s credit cards.

Not long after the episode aired, the Dr. Phil YouTube channel uploaded the now-notorious video which showed the teenage aggressively threatening the studio audience with these words: “Cash me ousside, how bah dat?”

The clip soon garnered millions upon millions of views, and the young girl became famous seemingly overnight.

A year ago, Hollyscoop predicted Bregoli would be a millionaire by the end of 2017:

Bregoli even managed to profit off her dubious fame, earning money from product placements on Instagram where she has an impressive 12 million followers. Often the young rapper would receive as much as $40,000 for a single post.
