Bill Cosby Is Planning a Summer Tour Talking about Avoiding Sexual Assault Charges

It’s fair to say that Bill Cosby’s PR team have been busy over the past week or so. Days on from his well-documented sexual assault court case, which ended in a mistrial, after jurors reported a hopeless deadlock, the comedian and actor is now going on a nationwide tour to talk about how to avoid sexual assault charges.

Cosby, who was trialled on one account of sexual assault despite there being more than 50 accusations against him, avoided a jail term on 17 June 2017. The reasons for the dismissal of the case was due to there apparently being no solid evidence to convict the 79-year-old. The jury also cited the fact there were inconsistencies in the statement given by the alleged victim, Andrea Constand.

Constand, who was a friend of Cosby’s when the attack happened, alleges that the star gave her pills that left her “frozen” and unable to resist as he assaulted her. She initially made the claim in 2005, a year after the attack apparently took place, and sued him in civil court.

At the time, Cosby admitted to using sedative drugs in order to acquire consensual sex off of young women, but denied any wrongdoing. In 2006, the case was settled for an undisclosed amount outside of court, and left alone for nine years. However, the case re-opened after Cosby broke their confidentiality agreement in 2015, when he denied the other allegations that were mounting against him.
