16 Jun The First Photos Showing the Destruction inside Grenfell Tower Have Been Released
Harrowing footage from inside Grenfell Tower has been released, showing the mangled wreckage that was once people’s homes.
The photos of the aftermath of Wednesday morning’s blaze, taken as crews assessed the upper floors of the 24-storey building, give the world a glimpse into the horror that faced residents as the Notting Hill flats in West London were engulfed in flames.
Currently, 17 people are confirmed dead, but more than 70 people remain unaccounted for, amid fears that the death toll could soar to more than 100.
Haunting images were reportedly taken on Thursday by local painter and nearby resident, Hassan Kaissi, 42, who rushed to the scene after hearing news about the fire and spent five and a half hours helping fire crews and residents.
