24 Jul 5-Year-Old Girl Fined £150 For Opening A Lemonade Stand

When I was five years old, my dad started to give me an allowance. I received 50p a week so I could learn how to save, in the hope that one day I’d be able to manage a mortgage or a business. But it took about two and a half hours before I had gone to the corner shop and got myself 50p’s worth of candy. Needless to say, my parents learned early on that I was unlikely to grow up to be an entrepreneur or investment banker, but one youngster showed a significantly higher level of aptitude at last week’s LoveBox Festival.

If you attended the event in east London’s Victoria Park, you might have noticed a little girl with a lemonade stand selling cold refreshments to thirsty festivalgoers. What should have been a heartwarming story of young hustle however, has ended on a somewhat sour note. This five-year-old girl not only had her operation shut down, but she was fined £150 by the local council as well.
