It’s no secret that alcohol sold in venues is expensive. At the last music festival I went to, I had to finish my wine as quickly as possible before it was inevitably confiscated by security. I then had two options: stop drinking, or pay four times the price for the same drink. I chose the former.
Whilst venues claim that the expensive price of alcohol acts as a deterrent for loutish behaviour, it does not. People still get ridiculously smashed, but thanks to the organizers’ ridiculous confiscation of their alcohol – they wake up the next day with a headache and an even bigger pain in their wallet.
So, this means it’s time to get creative. Smuggling alcohol in to venues has never looked easier thanks to these hilarious and rather outrageous ideas…
1. If they asked about the weight, you could just say you were very big on salad…
2. Burrito smuggling is definitely catching on…
3. This girl didn’t even try to hide what she was doing…
4. So close and yet so far…
If it means saving money, people are willing to get seriously creative, and why shouldn’t they? I’ve been sold drinks at festivals for $10 when I know they cost $2 in the store – and the store was making a profit on that in the first place. On top of the price of entry, expensive drinks are nothing more than a scam.
