Cell phones have changed the way we live our lives. Gone are the days when you had to be at home to contact someone via a landline. Now we are in touch with each other 24/7. Whilst a world without cell phones might be hard to imagine in 2017, it wasn’t until the late ’90s that they became widely available. I’m sure we can all remember the trusty Nokia 3310 that most of us owned in the early ’00s – not only was it indestructible, but it had the legendary Snake game built in too!

Anyone born after the late ’80s can barely fathom a world without cell phones. We grew up with them and slowly watched handsets become increasingly advanced. However, our parents’ generation grew up without cell phones, and, for one reason or another, it’s moms who’ve struggled the most when it comes to getting to grips with technology. Despite having a phone for years, a text from my own mom is a rarity, and, whenever she plucks up the courage to text, it’s always hilarious.

From texting me purely to tell me off (‘‘Stop being mean to Donald Trump!”) to writing phrases like ”Love mom and dad” even though it’s just her texting, it’s safe to say that ”mom texts” are pretty distinctive. However, my mom’s nowhere near as entertaining as these moms…
