Being single sucks. Oh sure, I know plenty of people who enjoy the single life, and would rather be manacled to a sea mine than suffer through half an hour in a serious relationship… but I’m not one of those people. As a serial monogamist, I hate every minute of being single. I’ve been in long-term relationships a lot, and I feel far happier when I have someone to come home to and spend time with. The way I describe it is like owning a colour TV – once you have a colour picture you never want to go back to black and white. You’re still seeing the same stuff, but it all looks muted, dull and grey.
