Oh, and some people have also decided that vaping Tide Pods, at the risk of burning their internal organs, is a brilliant idea.

We are less than one month in 2018 and it’s already proving to be one of the most ridiculous years in humanity’s history. While we might be growing increasingly advanced in terms of science and technology, when it comes to common sense, humankind is regressing.

The is epitomised by the Tide Pod challenge which encourages teens (and adults with one brain cell) to eat detergent. Despite warnings from health professionals, people remain determined to try out this dangerous challenge and stores have now been forced to take drastic action.

1. When people can’t be trusted with cleaning products

Yes, it’s come to the point where detergent is being locked away. We’ll be washing our clothes entirely with soap if things don’t change.

In response to the Tide Pod challenge, Procter & Gamble – Tide’s parent company – issued a statement, which read, “Our laundry pacs are a highly concentrated detergent meant to clean clothes and they’re used safely in millions of households every day.”

“They should be only used to clean clothes and kept up, closed and away from children. They should not be played with, whatever the circumstance is, even if it is meant as a joke.”
