At the time of their birth, the girls’ parents chose not to have them surgically separated due to the risks that such a procedure presented. There was a high chance that one of the girls wouldn’t make it through the operation and as a result their parents decided to boycott any attempts to separate them in order to save both their lives.

Naturally, their unique appearance has garnered a lot of attention throughout their lives. With two heads and one body, which they both command, the girls certainly do make for an unusual, yet remarkable, sight.
